GPS Car Tracker – Problems reading SMS July 10, 2013

Hi, how are you doing?

This post is about a tip, some users are complaining that our app isn’t reading the SMS from the tracker. The problem, most of the times, is that some SMS apps are blocking our app from receiving these messages.

Apps like GO SMS PRO, Handcent, LINE or WhatsApp are very good, but sometimes they are set to block sending SMS to others apps and in these cases our app isn’t allowed to receive the messages from the GPS Tracking. You can fix it by changing how these apps work.

– Handcent: Go to Settings -> Application settings -> Default Messaging application -> Disable
– GO SMS PRO: Settings -> Advanced -> Other options -> and then you will find an option that blocks the messages from being sent to another app.

And so on, so if it is the case, you can try this workaround to let both apps working properly (GPS Tracker and your favorite SMS app).

If you tried this workaround and it still isn’t working, send us an email.

Are you trying to buy our app, but you just can’t buy via Google Play (no credit card, i.e.)? We can sell our app by PayPal (international) and bank transfer (only to Brazil buyers via BB, Caixa or Itaú). Send us an email if you want to buy!

You can buy the FULL app for Android…

If you have any questions or an idea, send us an e-mail and we will answer ASAP.

Bonjour!

Sorry for the folks who only read English, but we will post some topics in other languages too.

Hi, all,

Today we uploaded a new version of our GPS Tracker application. In this release we have new functions, such as:
– “Move Alert” option to enable and disable it;
– German, French, Italian and Spanish languages fixed;
– Dutch language added;
– Gets automatically real address by latitude/longitude when receives a new SMS;
– “Speed Alert” screen shows speed in miles/hour to help people who aren’t familiar with kilometers/hour;
– Some bug fixes (e. g. clone trackers send latitude and longitude with signed numbers (lat: 123.456 long: -0.123456), not with compass point suffix (lat: 123.456N long: 0.123456W))
– Feature to reset the counter messages (click in the line with this info and the app will ask if you want to reset);
– Feature to clear all Events and Locations sent and received by the tracker (red “X” button at top right).Image

Tip of the Day April 25, 2012

This tip comes from the Locations tab.

Image

Have you noticed that some locations has a yellow icon on the left and others have a grey one? Do you know what it means?

When we receive a message from the tracker device there is a signal tag. If the value is “F” it means the device could locate your position on GPS (Full GPS Signal, otherwise it means weak GPS signal).

In our app we show it using these signs:
– Yellow, it means the GPS could locate your position on GPS (Signal=F).
– Grey, it means your GPS is in a blind location or have weak signal, like a underground garage, for example. So the GPS sends the last location they found, not the current one.

Bye,
Austral Team
